It is true that the Gwangnung Arboretum was originally partly closed to protect nature. In order to enter the Gwangneung Arboretum, you must make a reservation at the Gwangneung Arboretum website within a predetermined number of people entering the site. However, since last year or the year before last, we are doing more open policies and practices.
The entrance to the new arboretum is located a little further away from the current entrance, and it's bigger and nicer. It doesn't seem to be used yet, but we've got a new building and a new parking lot.

A parking lot entranceI'm driving over from Pocheon and just before Cami coffee, there's a parking lot on the right. We are not operating officially yet, so you can enter without charge.
parking lotIf you go inside, you will come to the parking lot. It's bigger than I expected, but I'm afraid I won't have this seat on weekends or holidays. In the picture above, there were a lot of cars when there weren't many people on weekdays.

In reality, it is a beautiful main entrance to the Gwangnung Arboretum. It doesn't seem to be quiet and open at the moment, but I think it will serve as a great entrance in the future.
Past the entranceAfter passing through the entrance and entering the arboretum, you can see the entrance. It has various buildings and indoor space. I don't think there's anything in the room yet, but I think we're going to run various programs and classes for citizens and children.

A stone start on the trailA monument to the official name of the trail is on the floor at the start. Gwangneung Forest Ecology Trail is probably the official name.

A tree-walking walkwaySome sections are also located next to the road. I'm a little worried about the smoke, but ... Still, there aren't many cars because of the narrow streets.
Beware of snakes and wild pigs.Maybe it's because it's a protected mountain, so snakes and wild pigs are coming out. I have to be careful all the time.
A natural playgroundAt the end of the parking lot near the entrance of Gwangneung Arboretum, there is a playground made of nature. I think the children will be really happy to see it. They're all made of wood. We don't have kids.
A rest area by the walkwayThere are many rest areas on the trail. There's a chair. There are many places where you can take pictures.
This kind of path leads up to the bongseon.
If you walk from Kemie Coffee to Bonseonsa (round trip), you can expect about an hour and a half to two hours.
Call time
I went to the weekday of late fall in November, 2019. Many people come on weekends or holidays. To enjoy your composure, I strongly recommend you visit on weekdays. And since it's a forest, if the sun comes early in the evening, you might end up in trouble, so you should come in the daytime if possible.
