Asia's Longest Luge Race in Ganghwa Island

Ganghwado Island is well known as a place where you visit mainly for a tour of history. But I don't think that's necessarily the case now. There are a lot of entertainment and things to see. Among them, there was an extreme entertainment that people of all ages like. It's not too dangerous.

Luge is the longest in the East for 1.8 kilometers.

Luge event at strengthening

Ganghwa luge is a recreational facility developed and operated by Ganghwa Island Resort. It opened in June 2018 and has been a big tourist attraction.

Ganghwa luge is a dynamic experience vehicle that uses only the gradient and gravity of the ground in a specially designed cart to steer and brake. It is a non-powered wheel sled that anyone from children to adults can enjoy.
The gradient of the track is gentle, but the curve is repetitive, so you can feel the speed and thrill of the track, and if you wear protective gear, you can enjoy leisure sports without burden to all of you.
The track is the largest in Asia (Ocean Course, Valley Course) with an extended distance of 1.8 km / line 2 course. On the way to the ticket office

Parking in the parking lot and walking towards the luge building, there is a ticket office on your right. There were a lot of people during the season, but there weren't many people in late fall when we visited.

The basic course is to go up the gondola and down by luge.
You can buy the tickets once to five times, get 4,000 won for the second time, 12,000 won for the third edition, and 27,000 won for the fifth edition. So if you don't feel pressured to ride, it's a good idea to buy more episodes.

We bought and rode the 2nd episode, but it was a bit disappointing. Usually, I think a three is appropriate, and if you really like it, you should buy five.

There is a food court, rest area, and reservoir in front of the ticket office, so it's good to wait and relax.

This is the food court in front of the ticket office. The price is a little bit more expensive than the market, but it's an understandable price. I haven't tried it, so I can't guarantee it.

A gondola boarding point

Now you have to leave the ticket office and go up by gondola. First time to ride on the left and second time to the right.
When you go to the first place, you can put a seal on your hand. From the second time, you can board the ship at the place where you reload it as a sign.
The first riders are taught how to ride a luge. Since the second time, the waiting line is relatively short.

Ocean Course : a relatively slow course through obstacles, usually with a view to the sea.
Valley Course : A course that focuses on the speed of a straight course and a lot of fast downhill as it usually flows toward the mountains.

If you go up, you can see a sign that says UFO restaurant. In other words, the observatory is a restaurant and cafe. Sitting at this observatory cafe, the cafe itself spins very slowly. We can see the sea in a few minutes and the mountain in a little while.
